Obama phones Nawaz, says Pakistan can’t be ignored

ISLAMABAD (92 News): US President Barack Obama on Thursday phoned Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and discussed matters of mutual interest with him for 30 minutes. Both leaders discussed the agreements inked by US Secretary of State John Kerry during his recent visit to Pakistan. Obama said that America knows situation in the region. He also briefed Nawaz Sharif about his visit to India. He said Pakistan has an important place in the region and hence it cannot be ignored. The US president lauded Pakistan’s efforts for peace in the world as well successes in Zarb-e-Azab. He also hailed Pakistan’s increasing relations with Afghanistan. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif expressed his wish to become a member of the Nuclear Suppliers Group. The prime minister said that India has continuously been violating human rights and UN resolutions in Held Kashmir. “For this reason, India is incapable of becoming a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council,” he said.
