OGRA recommends Rs5.15 per litre increase in petrol price
July 31, 2019

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has recommended the government to increase per litre price of petrol up to Rs5.15 for the month of August.

In a summary moved to the petroleum division on Tuesday, the ORGRA has also recommended Rs5.65 per litre increase in high-speed diesel and Rs5.38 in per litre price of kerosene oil.

An increase of Rs8.90 per litre price of light-speed diesel has also been recommended to the petroleum division.

The finance ministry will take final decision today whether or not to enhance the prices.

The POL prices for July were not changed by the PTI government after it made some adjustments in tax rates.

The POL prices have been witnessing an increase in previous months at the cost of consumers' pockets.

A general perception among the people's minds is that the government has no other choice except to enhance POL prices as $6 billion IMF-funded bailout package had imposed strict conditions on the fiscal and monetary policies of the country.
