OIC adopts Pakistan proposal to spotlight Rohingya Muslims' persecution

ISLAMABAD (Webdesk) - The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has unanimously approved a Pakistani proposal to bring into greater focus the plight of Rohingya Muslims of Myanmar. The approval was given at a meeting at the UN Headquarters in New York. The aim of the Ambassadorial-level meeting discussed current situation of beleaguered Rohingya community. A delegation of the OIC-group also met with the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and apprises him of their serious concern over the oppression of Rohingyas Muslims. The delegation urged the UN Secretary General to take up the issue with UN Security Council. Rohingya Muslims have been forced into the Bay of Bengal and the Andaman Sea to seek refuge in Malaysia and Indonesia.
