OMT project a violation of Archaeological Act: Review Commission

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Review Commission has on Thursday submitted its report regarding the Orange Line Metro Train (OMT) project in the Supreme Court. The commission in its report stated that the project is gross violation of Archaeological Act and vibration poses danger to historic buildings. The report stated that the project poses a danger to the five archaeological sites constructed in the Mughal era including Lakshmi Chowk and Shalimar Gardens. The report made it clear that the vibration produced during the construction of pillars for OMT pose danger to historic buildings. Earlier, the Supreme Court ordered to review the report prepared by the NESPAK. The OMT will have 24 elevated stations and two underground stations. The train would depart from Ali Town Thokar Niaz Baig and its final station would be Dera Gujran.
