RAWALPINDI (92 News) – As many as 2000 patients have been tested positive for dengue fever in Rawalpindi’s three hospitals that has set a new record as compared to number of cases of the infection in the past few years. The alarming increase in number of dengue fever confirmed cases show that the concerned authorities in the Punjab government has failed in putting any check on its spread, while at least five people have lost their lives during one week. The Dengue Special Cell officials said that at least 250 dengue patients are being admitted to Outpatient Departments (OPDs) on daily basis, while 2200 dengue patients have been admitted to hospitals of twin cities. Doctors said that most of the patients belong to Rawalpindi’s congested areas.
