One killed, three injured as students clash in Abdul Wali Khan University

MARDAN (92 News) – A student of the Journalism Department was killed in a clash over blasphemous content issue at Abdul Wali Khan University on Thursday.

Several students were injured in the clash. Students were trapped in the university. Later, they were allowed to leave the university after thorough investigations.

The police have controlled the situation besides arresting several students.

Owing to the simmering tension, the university has been closed for an indefinite period and all hostels have been vacated.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governor has taken notice of the incident and order investigations into it. He has demanded a report in this regard.

After the incident, the police launched a search operation and arrested 59 suspects.
