Only PASSCO, not provincial govts, purchasing wheat: Rana Tanvir

TOBA TEK SINGH (92 News) - Federal Minister for Industries and Production Rana Tanvir Hussain has said that only the Pakistan Agricultural Storage and Services Corporation (PASSCO), not the provincial governments, producing wheat.

Addressing a press conference on Saturday, he said that eight gunny bags per acre were being issued to farmers. "Under instructions from the prime minister, wheat purchase and provision of gunny bags are going on in a transparent manner," he added.

Rana Tanvir said that only 1,500 applications, out of 88,000, had been confirmed.
