Opposition boycott SA over denial to allot PAC chairmanship

KARACHI (92 News) – The opposition parties on Tuesday boycotted the Sindh Assembly (SA) for not getting Public Accounts Committee (PAC) chairmanship. According to the details garnered, the opposition announced to boycott the Sindh Assembly (SA) proceedings for the next two days over the provincial government’s denial to allot PAC chairmanship to the opposition. Opposition Leader in SA and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) leader Firdous Shamim Naqvi said that they would not made assembly as personal entity of the government. He said that the opposition should be given same tittles which the National Assembly’s opposition got. Firdous Naqvi further said that their members will refuse to be part of the assembly’s standing committees and the protest will continue until their demands are met. PTI leader Khurram Sher Zaman said that they would make accountable the provincial government over billions of rupees corruptions within 11 year. He mentioned that the government knew that if PAC chairmanship was granted to their members then its secrets would be out in the open. Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan leader Khawaja Izharul Hassan said that the Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) wanted to run the house as per its interests instead of the public. He also recorded protest and said that their party members were no longer allowed to speak on the assembly, and that the sanctity of the Sindh Assembly was being breached.
Opposition chants ‘Go Zardari Go’ slogans in Sindh Assembly
Earlier, the Sindh Assembly’s session turned into fish market when lawmakers raised slogans as ‘Go Zardari Go’ in the Sindh Assembly.
During the session, PTI Khurram Sher Zaman was not allowed to speak by the assembly’s deputy speaker. However, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) started protest and raised slogans as ‘Go Zardari GO. Meanwhile, the members from treasury benches including Saeed Ghani and Shehla Raza also started to raise slogans against the opposition members instead of resolving matters related to the PAC committees and reservations of the oppositions. Speaking to the session, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah condemned the yesterday incident of fight in the assembly. He termed that the inexperienced members set a bad tradition here. He also announced to generate electricity by coal in Thar and adding into the grid system soon.
