LAHORE (92 News) – The opposition has decided to observe July 25, the day when the general elections were held a year ago, as black day. The decision was made during a meeting of the opposition parties in Lahore on Saturday. Representatives of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Awami National Party (ANP), Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam and other parties attended the meeting. The meeting also discussed the no-trust motion against the Senate chairman. Meanwhile, PML-N president Shehbaz Sharif presided over a meeting of the executive committee. Talking to the media after the meeting, PML-N leader Ahsan Iqbal said that they strongly condemn the arrest of Shahid Khaqan Abbasi. “Abbasi played a key role in ending the loadshedding of gas which ran the wheel of the textile and fertilizers industries,” he added. He said that the PML-N would bravely face the government’s revengeful activities. “About one million lost their jobs due to the policies of the government this year,” he added. Ahsan Iqbal said that the government was formed after snatching the mandate of the people on July 25. “The nation has been burdened with further debt of Rs7 billion. We improved the economy with Rs10 billion, generated electricity and constructed motorways,” he added. The PML-N leader said that the forensic report of the judge’s video had been completed and it was crime to detain Nawaz Sharif in jail. “Chief Justice of Pakistan Asif Saeed Khosa should compensate for injustice and order the release of Nawaz Sharif,” he said.
