ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The opposition defeated the government twice in the National Assembly on Tuesday.

The House passed the bill presented by the opposition to stop changing political loyalties. According to the bill, a lawmaker changing his loyalty will not be able to contest the election on the ticket of another party for seven years.

The bill presented by PML-N's Javed Hasnain has been handed over to the Standing Committee.

On the other hand, the government's move to present the Criminal Law (Amendment) Bill was also rejected by the House. The National Assembly also approved several motions.

Expressing his views in the House, PML-N leader Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said that the opposition had morally won and now the government should resign.

Marriyum Aurangzeb said that the government had suffered a defeat despite the preparation. "During the joint session, the opposition will get blocked the legislation regarding the NAB Amended Ordinance and electronic voting machine," she declared.

She said that the NAB ordinance was an NRO for thieves, terming the voting machine law as black. "The prime minister should summon a meeting and raise a hue and cry. It is time for the prime minister to leave," she added.
