ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that the opposition is opposing the electronic voting machine as dead voters will be removed from it.

Addressing a ceremony after launching a digital portal to facilitate overseas Pakistanis on Thursday, he said that they had given the proposal in 2018 and the corrupt elements did not allow the EVM.

"Rulers will be under pressure to do something for overseas Pakistanis if they will vote. Some people do not allow the introduction of technology in the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR)," he maintained.

The prime minister said that overseas Pakistanis are an asset of the country. "The government is committed to bringing ease in the lives of overseas Pakistanis who are interested to invest in Pakistan but corruption is a hurdle," he added.

He said all embassies had been sensitized to facilitate overseas Pakistanis, especially the working class living in the UAE and Saudi Arabia.
