ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The opposition in the Senate staged a protest against not presenting the National Security Policy in the Parliament.

The opposition members gathered before the dais of the chairman and chanted slogans against the government. They refused to listen to Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani and continued their protest.

Senator Sherry Rehman said that what will be the worth of the National Security Policy when the IMF will run the economy and the State Bank of Pakistan will be put at pawn. "Now the government will be answerable to international imperialists. The NSP will be just a piece of paper," she added.

PML-N Senator Asif Kirmani declared the possible mini-budget as 'Jagga Tax'.

Expressing his views, Leader of the House Shahzad Waseem said that they had demanded proposals on the draft of the National Security Policy. "We also convened a committee meeting, but the opposition did not turn up. They attended the meeting where the people in uniform were present," he maintained.

Senator Ali Muhammad Khan said that those chanting the slogans of 'Roti, Kapra Aur Makan' bankrupted the country.

Senator Dost Muhammad complained about absence of Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed from the session. Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani has sent a message to Sheikh Rasheed to attend the session.
