Opposition rejects increase in petrol price, demands its immediate withdrawal

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The opposition on Saturday rejected the Rs25.58 per litre increase in the prices of petrol and demanded its immediate withdrawal. Speaking on the floor of the National Assembly, PML-N leader Rana Sanaullah said that the increase in the petrol price is the biggest dacoity in the history. “The institutions are chasing the opposition and the mafia is unbridled,” he said. Khurram Dastgir said that the government could not wait for four days and strangled the nation. Abdul Qadir Patel said that the burden of Rs7 billion has been shifted on to the masses by increasing the petrol price. Rejecting the increase in the petrol price, Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif said that government had given a ‘plunder licence’ to the mafia. “After the sugar scandal, the petrol mafia has won while the nation has disappointed,” he said. PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto said that the prime minister had benefitted the mafia by increasing the petrol price. “The government is taking anti-people steps. The sinking economy cannot be saved by looting the poor masses,” he added. JI ameer Sirajul Haq, rejecting the increase in the petrol price, said that they would resist to the increase at each forum. PPP leader Palosha Khan said that the government itself is the biggest mafia.
