ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Rahbar Committee of opposition parties met on Tuesday and discussed important issues, including Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) ‘Azadi March’. For giving tough time to the federal government, the opposition summoned a meeting of Rehbar committee which held in Islamabad at 3:00pm. JUI-F’s Akram Khan Durrani presided the meeting. Leaders of all opposition parties attended the meeting. During the meeting, the meeting discussed Azadi March and the proceedings of the NAB against opposition parties. The meeting also reviewed the joint strategy of the opposition parties in connection with the JUI-F-led Azadi March. The opposition parties suggested to summon all parties conference (APC) over participation in Azadi March.
Govt decides to take legal action against Maulana Fazal
The government has decided to take legal action against JUI-F chief Maulana Fazalur Rahman after his announcement of the lockdown in Islamabad on October 27. The decision was made during a meeting between Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Ali Amin Gandapur and Babar Awan. Gandapur said that the so-called Azadi March will suffer a defeat. “The march will further expose Maulana Fazalur Rahman before the nation,” he said. He said that Imran Khan is emerging as international leader. “The DI Khan people have already rejected Maulana Fazalur Rahman. The poor performance of Maulana Fazalur Rahman as Kashmir Committee chairman is before the people,” he said.
On October 3, JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rahman has announced to hold anti-government protest as ‘Azadi March’ towards Islamabad on October 27. Addressing a press conference on Thursday, the JUI-F chief said that the JUI-F will stage sit-in at D-Chowk in Islamabad on October 27, adding that the present government was formed as a result of rigging. The JUI-F chief said that all opposition parties had agreed on the above and had called for fresh elections. “We will gather at D-Chowk,” he said, adding, “We are not ones to disperse easily.” “The country is under economic crisis due to the government’s incompetency,” Maulana Fazlur Rehman said. He maintained that the party will begin its ‘Azadi march’ on October 27 towards Islamabad. “All caravans will reach Islamabad across the country. We will express solidarity with the Indian Occupied Kashmir (IoK).”
