Outgoing US envoy calls on COAS Gen Bajwa

RAWAPINDI (92 News) – Outgoing US Ambassador in Pakistan David Hale paid a farewell call on Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa in Rawalpindi. In his tweet, Inter-Service Public Relation (ISPR) Director General Major General Asif Ghafoor said that the army chief thanked the US envoy for his services in Pakistan and acknowledged his contributions towards Pak-US relations. The outgoing ambassador thanked the army chief for contributions of Pakistan Army towards regional peace and stability.   Earlier, US ambassador in Pakistan David Hale called upon Prime Minister Imran Khan at the Prime Minister's House. During the meeting, the matters relating to the Pak-US relation were discussed and Minister for Foreign Affairs Shah Mehmood Qureshi was also present in the meeting. Both the leaders exchanged views about the situation of region. The meeting comes following a diplomatic row between the US State department and Pakistan's foreign office over the statement released reading out the content of US secretary of State Mike Pompeo and premier Imran’s telephonic conversation.
