Over 100 Pakistanis stranded at Urumqi airport, appeal to PM & COAS for help

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Following the coronavirus attack, over 100 Pakistanis, including senior citizens and children, have been stranded at Urumqi airport. The stranded people, through 92 News, have appealed to Prime Minister Imran Khan and Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa to help them. About 500 Pakistanis are present in the Chinese city Wuhan. Nadeem Bhatti, a student, has appealed to Prime Minister Imran Khan to help them. In a video message, he said that the situation in Wuhan is very complex at this time. “Owing to the corona virus, we have been isolated in rooms. The entire city is shut. Hospitals are packed with the corona virus victims. The virus is spreading on daily basis,” he said. Nadeem Bhatti said that Malaysia, Australia, Turkey and India have rescued their national by special planes. “The university, in an email, has allowed us to leave for Pakistan. The Pakistan government has not yet has helped us,” he said. He appealed to the Pakistani authorities to rescue them from Wuhan. On the other hand, the Foreign Office spokesperson said that they are in contact with the Chinese authorities with regard to corona virus. She said that the Pakistan Embassy in Beijing is taking steps. “China has assured free food and medical treatment to students studying at universities,” she added. The Foreign Office spokesperson said that the Pakistanis living in China could contact the Foreign Ministry through special hotline.
