ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhry said that the overseas Pakistanis were hesitant in trusting former leaders such as Nawaz Sharif and Asif Ali Zardari.

Speaking to the journalists, Fawad Chaudhry said that PML-N and PPP want to keep overseas Pakistanis out of the election process because the overseas Pakistanis do not trust Nawaz and Zardari. “But the PTI has successfully earned the trust of nationals abroad and this was proven by the record-breaking remittances this year,” he remarked.

He said that Rs1000 billion sent by the overseas Pakistanis is a sign of confidence in Prime Minister Imran Khan. Remittances came in large numbers to Pakistan.

"All Pakistanis who have an ID card do not need to register for vote. The PTI has always supported the right of overseas Pakistanis to vote, the information minister maintained. Regarding issues faced by vaccinated Pakistanis going abroad, he said discussions are underway between various countries and World Health Organization to accord approval of different vaccines.

Responding to another question, Fawad Chaudhry urged the opposition parties to utilize the parliament for making their suggestions for electoral reforms instead of constituting other political forums. He said in this regard we welcome the suggestions of all stake holders.
