LAHORE (92 News) - The ruling alliance suffered a setback when Punjab Assembly Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan suspended the reserved seats for women and minorities given to it.

The decision has been made in the light of the Supreme Court verdict regarding the reserved seats given to the ruling alliance. The number of suspended members is at least 27. The speaker ordered the suspension of the members from today.

Meanwhile, Opposition Leader in the Punjab Assembly Rana Aftab termed the point of order on the reserved seats as justified. Rana Aftab had given the reference of the SC regarding Sunni Ittehad Council's (SIC) reserved seats given to the PML-N and other parties.

The speaker also read out the judgment of the Supreme Court in the House.
