PAF has a proud history of defending country’s aerial frontiers: President

KARACHI (92 News) – Appreciating the professionalism and capabilities of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF), President Arif Alvi said that the air force has a proud history of defending the country’s aerial frontiers. The president said while addressing a ceremony after witnessing PAF’s fire power demonstration at Sonmiani. He was also appreciative of the PAF's pursuit for modernization through indigenization.
Pak armed forces ready to face internal, external challenges
The president said that country's armed forces are capable and ready to face any internal and external challenges. He also said the armed forces stood in complete synergy during the two decade long war on terrorism. “Our forces have also demonstrated their resolve and capability against any aggression,” he maintained.
Pakistan wishes to maintain peaceful relations
President Alvi also said Pakistan wishes to maintain peaceful relations with all the nations especially the neighbors. He however said we are not oblivious to safeguarding our national interests and sovereignty. He said Pakistan will always stand by the Kashmiri people in their just struggle for right to self-determination.
Urges int’l community to lift curfew in Occupied Kashmir
He urged the international community to bring an end to blatant human rights violations and curfew in occupied Kashmir and expedite the resolution of Kashmir dispute in accordance with the UN Security Council resolutions. Earlier,  the PAF's firepower demonstration held at Somiani Firing Range. President Arif Alvi, Air Chief Marshall Mujahid Anwar Khan, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Zubair Mehmood Hayart among others observed the PAF’s firepower demonstration. TV footage available with the media showed JF-17 Thunder Aircraft, helicopter gunships and Commandos of Special Services Wing displayed their professional skills. Meanwhile, other fighter aircrafts are flying at lightning speed and dropping bombs on the designated targets.
