RAWALPINDI (92 News) - Twenty-two people, who had gone from Islamabad and trapped in Kumrat due to sudden flash floods, have been evacuated through helicopter.

According to a press release issued by the ISPR on Saturday, the contact with the trapped people was established by troops on the direction of the Corps Commander Peshawar.

"Some families went on hills and could not be evacuated due to bad weather. However, a continuous contact is being maintained with them and the rescued families have been shifted to safer places around those mountains tops.

"These people are safe and will be evacuated by army aviation helicopters as and when weather permits. A ground party is also ready from Khaweza Khela for evacuation. People are requested not to travel towards Swat and surrounding areas due to flash floods."
