Pak Navy ready to defend maritime borders of country: Admiral Zafar

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi has said that Pakistan Navy is ever ready to defend the maritime borders of the country including the security of China Pakistan Economic Corridor and Gwadar Port. He was addressing the Pakistan Navy Fleet's annual Efficiency Competition Parade and awards distribution ceremony in Karachi on Wednesday. The navel chief also expressed satisfaction on operational activities and preparedness of Pakistan Fleet. Admiral Abbasi said the successful test of various missiles also proved that Pakistan Navy is fully capable to respond any aggression. Earlier, Commander Pakistan Fleet Vice Admiral Asif Khaliq presented the fleet operational engagements during 2019. Later, the Navel Chief distributed Proficiency Shields among the leading performing units during the previous year. Pakistan Navy has successfully demonstrated firing of different missiles in the north Arabian Sea and at Makran Coast. According to the Pakistan Navy spokesperson, Pakistan Navy’s warships and airplanes fired anti-ship missiles at sea level. The Fast Attack Craft fired missile from the sea to surface level while missile was also fired from the underwater conventional submarine to the ground. Meanwhile, air-defence missiles were also fired from Makran Coast. The different fired missiles accurately hit their targets. Naval Chief Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi witnessed firing of different missiles. He expressed satisfaction over operational preparedness of Pakistan Navy. The naval chief said Pakistan Navy is fully capable to give a befitting response to any aggression. The Pakistan Navy spokesperson said that these successful test-fires of different missiles is a proof of Pakistan Navy’s operational preparedness.
