Pak-Russia joint exercise progressing smoothly

RAWALPINDI (92 News) – Two week long joint exercises have started between Special Forces of Pakistan and Russia Armies in Minralney Vody area of Russia under codename Druzba 2017. The opening ceremony of the exercise was attended by senior military officials of Special Forces of both countries. Designated “Friendship 2017”, the exercise will take place through October 4.     The joint exercise will focus on counter terrorism Operations, hostage and rescue, cordon and search operation. The exercise will enhance and further strengthen military ties between the two countries and share Pakistan Army's experience in war against terrorism.   Friendship 2017 will involve 200 personnel from both Russia and Pakistan. The exercise includes more than 20 mountain warfare drills. The exercise will take place on a mountain training range near Nizhny Arkhyz settlement.
