ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia will hold a meeting at the ministerial level after each six months, while the leadership will meet once in a year. Addressing a joint press conference with Saudi Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Adel al-Jubeir on Monday, he said that Saudi Arabia had accepted the old demand of a reduction in the visa fee. Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that the steps taken by both countries would now be visible at public level as compared to past. “Saudi Arabia will invest US$20 billion in various sectors of Pakistan. Seven MoUs have been signed with Saudi side and more will be signed soon,” he announced. To a question, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that Pakistan respected the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Iran. “Pakistan and Saudi Arabia face similar challenges while there are ample opportunities of investment in Pakistan. The leadership of both countries is resolved to implement the projects and agreements,” he said. Speaking on the occasion, Saudi Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Adel al-Jubeir said that Saudi Arabia gives much importance to its relations with Pakistan. “An oil refinery will be set up at a cost of US$10 billion in Gwadar. We want to see Pakistan as an economically stable country,” he said. Responding to a question, he said that terrorism is a common enemy and Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and the USA are working jointly to eradicate this menace. “We are working with Pakistan in order to reach reconciliation between Taliban and Afghan government to move forward. Saudi Arabia wants a peaceful solution to the Afghan issue,” he maintained. About the Pak-India relations, Saudi Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Adel al-Jubeir said that they want both countries resolve their conflicts and have peaceful relations.
