Pakistan, Afghanistan discuss border management

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – A seven-member Afghan delegation has on Monday met Foreign Secretary Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhary and discuss matters relating to tensions between the two countries at Torkham border. The Afghan delegation led by Afghan Deputy Foreign Minister Hikmat Khalil arrived in Islamabad on the invitation of Adviser to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz. Foreign Secretary Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhary led Pakistan’s delegation while the Afghan side by its Deputy Foreign Minister Hekmat Khalil Karzai. The two sides discussed ways and means to check illegal cross border movement as well as the recent tension at Torkham border. On the occasion, Foreign Secretary Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry condemned the suicide attack in Kabul this morning. The Afghan delegation also held a meeting with Advisor on Foreign Minister Sartaj Aziz. During the meeting, bilateral relations and matters relating to border management came under discussion.
