Pakistan announces to donate $25,000 for UN peace fund
ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Pakistan has decided to donate to donate of 25,000 dollars to the UN Secretary General’s Peace-building Fund.
This was announced by Foreign Minister (FM) Shah Mehmood Qureshi while speaking in a virtual High Level Replenishment Conference for UN Secretary General’s Peace-building Fund. He said that Pakistan will provide token contribution of 25,000 dollars to the Secretary General’s Peace-building Fund.
FM Qureshi also said that the pledge underscores Pakistan’s longstanding political, human and financial commitment to UN’s endeavors in peacekeeping and peace-building.
He also reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to multilateral cooperation for preserving peace, preventing conflict and realizing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The foreign minister said as a major troop and police contributing country, Pakistan take pride in its rich UN peacekeeping history. He said over the last 60 years, Pakistan s peacekeepers have represented the blue flag in 46 UN Missions across four continents of the world.
