Pakistan Army rescues seven people from Kohistan mountains
MANSEHRA (92 News) – Pakistan Army rescued seven people who were trapped after heavy snowfall in Upper Kohistan mountains on Sunday.
According to the Inter-Service Public Relation (ISPR), the Pakistan army rescued seven labourers who had trapped in the Upper Kohistan mountains after heavy snowfall in the region
The ISPR said that the operation was launched at village Serto Lohi Jalkot near Supat Valley, Kohistan. The individuals were stuck for last 72 hours due to heavy snowfall.
Deputy Commissioner Upper Kohistan Hamidur Rehman informed that all seven people were located and rescued in the search operation. The ISPR said that all seven people have been shifted to a safe location.
District police officer Raja Abdul Saboor Khan had earlier told media that the families of the treasure hunters had not heard from them for more than a week, sparking fears that they may be trapped or dying.
Last week an operation was also launched to rescue tourists stranded in heavy snow near Nathia Gali. Pakistan Army and Air Force rescue teams were sent in support of the civil administration to help the tourists trapped at Toheed Abad near Nathia Gali.
Pakistan Army establishes free medical camps in drought-hit Tharparkar
On Jan 7, Pakistan Army has established free medical camps in drought hit areas of District Tharparkar.
According to the Inter-Service Public Relation (ISPR), the Pakistan Army established free medical camp for three days at Tharparkar.
Army doctors and paramedics provided essential medical treatment to over 1700 patients during the medical camp.
It is pertinent to mention here that not only Pakistan Army rendered their services for the defence of the country but also the armed forces conducted rescue and relief operationin any diverse situation of Pakistan including floods, earth quakes and mountain sliding.
The army also conducted the operations even after the heavy rains caused massive flooding and mud sliding in the area.
