Pakistan Army shoots down second Indian spy drone within three days

RAWALPINDI (92 News) – Pakistan Army on Friday shot down an Indian spy drone that intruded into the country’s airspace along the Line of Control (LoC) in the second such incident to have occurred within three days. “Pakistan Army troops shot down an Indian spying #quadcopter which came from Kanzalwan Sector, intruded 700 metres on Pakistan side of #LoC in Nekrun Sector,” Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Babar Iftikhar said in a tweet. https://twitter.com/OfficialDGISPR/status/1266413068306862080?s=20 This is the second Indian spy drone in a week that the Pakistan forces have intercepted and destroyed near the de facto border. Earlier on Wednesday, Pakistan Army troops on Wednesday shot down an Indian spying quadcopter in Rakhchikri Sector along Line of Control (LoC). The drone was brought down in the Rakhchikri Sector of the heavily militarised zone after it intruded 650 metres into the Pakistani territory, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) DG Major General Babar Iftikhar said in a statement. “The Indian quadcopter was shot down in Rakhchikri sector along the LoC. The quadcopter had intruded 650 metres on Pakistan’s side of the #LoC,” the ISPR said in a tweet. This is not the first time when Pakistani Army troops had to respond to Indian violations as it also shot down a similar quadcopter that intruded 600 metres inside Pakistan’s territory in Sankh sector last month. “Such unwarranted acts by the Indian Army are a clear violation of established norms and existing air agreements between the two nuclear-armed neighbours. It also reflects the Indian Army’s consistent disregard to the ceasefire understanding of 2003,” the military’s media wing had said after the incident. It is pertinent to mention here that the incident took place hours after Prime Minister Imran Khan slammed Modi government for its aggressive policy towards neighbours, putting regional peace at stake.
