Pakistan asks Britain to hand over Altaf Hussain, Nisar to meet Theresa May

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Pakistan has on Friday again formally written an application to the United Kingdom after 20 years requesting the British government to hand over Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s London-based party chief Altaf Hussain. Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar will meet British Prime Minister Theresa May and British Home Secretary in this regard. During the meetings, Chaudhry Nisar will hand over evidence against the MQM’s London-based party chief. He will also demand the closure of party’s activities in the United Kingdom. Pakistan had written an application requesting the British government to hand over MQM’s London-based chief Altaf Hussain in 1996 and then minister Rehman Malik handed over the evidence to the British government. Earlier, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan had said that the government is sending a formal reference against MQM leader Altaf Hussain to the UK Government over his hate speeches and inciting the party workers to violence. “We all are on one page regarding security of Karachi and the country,” he said. The minister had strongly condemned the statement of MQM chief for maligning Pakistan.
