Pakistan-bound Australian player's family threatened with dire consequences from India

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – An Indian citizen has threatened the family of an Australian player included in the Pakistan-bound squad with dire consequences.

The team member has informed the management about the threats.

Security sources revealed that the threats have been hurled to through a fake account on Instagram.

They said that Mridul Tiwari, a resident of Indian state Gujarat and having cell number 00917060185885, is behind the threats.

It is pertinent to mention that India has used such cheap tactics to hamper the international cricket in the past. Threats were hurled to the West Indies players for visiting Pakistan. The West Indies players had shared the threats regarding not to include them in the Indian Premier League (IPL) on social media.

Moreover, the families of the New Zealand players were also threatened for visiting Pakistan. As a result, the New Zealand players refused to visit Pakistan. Later, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) had postponed the scheduled tour.

After checking security thoroughly, Australia has declared Pakistan as complete safe and is sending its full-strength team to Pakistan that will play three Tests, three ODIs and one T20I during the tour.
