ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Prime Minister (PM ) Imran Khan categorically stated that Pakistan cannot recognize Israel as long as Palestinians are not given their due rights to a just settlement. In an interview with a private TV channel, the premier maintained, “Our stance is very clear…it was cleared by Quaid-e-Azam in 1948 that we can’t accept Israel until Palestinians are given their rights." It is pertinent to mention here that the statement comes days after the UAE and Israel normalised their relations. Commenting on the on recent developments in the Middle East, Imran Khan has clarified that the founder of Pakistan had made it clear that Israel would not be recognized until a just and fair solution to the Palestinian problem is given. “Whichever country wants to do it [accept Israel], our stance is very clear. Our stance was cleared by Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah in 1947-48," the premier said. "Which was that we will never recognise Israel till the Palestinians do not get their rights." "We will be answerable to Allah on the Palestine issue and his conscience will never allow accepting Israel without a solution to the Palestine issue," PM Khan expressed his point of view. He said that Pakistan will not establish diplomatic relations with Israel till the Palestinians do not get a separate state of their own, which the people of Palestine accept, based on the Two-Nation Theory. The prime minister further explained that if Pakistan agreed to recognising Israel and gave up its principled stance then it will have to stop raising the issue of Kashmir as the situation in the disputed area was the same. "Hence, Pakistan cannot recognise Israel," he added.
