ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Pakistan and China have expressed satisfaction over progress on the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project.

Talking to the media along with Adviser to PM on CPEC Khalid Mansoor after the 10th Joint Coordination Committee on CPEC on Thursday, Minister for Planning Asad Umar said that India is dead against the CPEC.

"The CPEC security was discussed in a meeting of the Joint Coordination Committee (JCC). A special cell has been established in the Interior Ministry," he maintained.

He said that China and Pakistan stand by each other despite threats. "Some new agreements were inked in the JCC," he added.

Asad Umar said that the federal and provincial governments as well as political parties support and stand behind the CPEC project.

"The first phase of CPEC has already provided dividends in the shape of filling in voids in energy and communication infrastructure. The phase two of the project is now successfully underway, which has a much broader scope of cooperation," he added.
