Pakistan for implementation of CPEC project, says Foreign Office; PM resolute to go ahead with the project

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Foreign Office on Tuesday announced that Pakistan is fully committed to implement the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project. In a statement in response to Indian External Affairs minister Sushma Swaraj’s statement quoting Indian PM Modi calling the CPEC “unacceptable” in his visit to China, the FO spokesperson said that the project would benefit the entire region. Earlier, the Indian government also summoned the Chinese envoy to protest over the CPEC. In response, the Chinese foreign ministry in a steadfast answer to the Indian objections has clarified that the Chinese projects in Pakistan not opposed to any third country and urged for solution of the Kashmir dispute between India and Pakistan through dialogue. Also, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in a statement on the occasion of the All Parties Conference over the law and order situation in Balochistan said that the enemies of Pakistan cannot digest the progress and development of Pakistan. “The CPEC will continue as planned,” he said.
