Pakistan committed to peace and stability, says COAS

RAWALPINDI (92 News) - Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa has said that enemy agencies want to sabotage the success gained as a result of Operation Raddul Fasad, we have to be aware of their nefarious intentions and remain determined.

According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), COAS Qamar Javed Bajwa paid an important visit to South and North Waziristan on Tuesday. Corps Commander Peshawar Lt Gen Nauman Mahmood received the Army Chief.

During the visit, the Army Chief was briefed on border management, ongoing operations for bringing stability in the area, area development and opening of border corridors.

The ISPR also said that the Pakistan Army chief spent a full day in Asman Manza and Mir Ali areas of South Waziristan. General Qamar Bajwa appreciated the co-operation by officers and soldiers in establishing the writ of civil administration in the area.

Addressing the occasion, the army chief said that Pakistan Army is committed to peace and stability in the region and it is playing a role in enhancing the capabilities of law enforcement agencies.

According to ISPR, the Army Chief also met the tribal elders of Mir Ali and appreciated the sacrifices of the tribal people in the war on terror.

In his address on the occasion, General Qamar Javed Bajwa said that peace has been widely established in the tribal areas and no disturbance in this regard would be allowed. Complete peace will be restored with the cooperation of the local population, COAS said.
