ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Pakistan has strongly condemns the tragic terrorist attack in New Zealand on Friday morning. Foreign Office spokesperson Dr Mohammad Faisal said Pakistan condemns the tragic terrorist incident in New Zealand. The spokesperson stated that Pakistan High Commission is in touch with the local authorities to ascertain details. In a tweet, Foreign Office spokesperson Dr Mohammad Faisal said our High Commission is in constant touch with the local authorities, trying to ascertain further details.   The spokesperson said the Pakistani High Commission has designated Minister Political Syed Moazzam Shah as focal point for the purpose. “Pakistan condemns the tragic terrorist incident in #NewZealand. Our High Commission is in touch with the local authorities and trying to ascertain details,” the FO spokesperson tweeted.   Earlier today in New Zealand, at least 40 people were martyred and more than dozens injured when a gunman opened fire in a mosque in Christ Church city on Friday morning as Bangladesh cricket team safe in vicinity of shooting. New Zealand police were hunting an active shooter in the center of Christchurch city after a gunman opened fire at a mosque inflicting several casualties. A witness told media that a man dressed in a military-style, camouflage outfit, and carrying an automatic rifle had started randomly shooting people in the mosque. “A serious and evolving situation is occurring in Christchurch with an active shooter,” New Zealand Police Commissioner Mike Bush said. “Police are responding with its full capability to manage the situation, but the risk environment remains extremely high.”
Bangladesh cricket team safe in vicinity of shooting
The Bangladesh cricket team was going to Friday prayers at the mosque, the Masjid Al Noor, when the shooting occurred but all members were safe, a team coach told Reuters. After the firing incident, Bangladeshi cricketer Mushfiqur Rahim took his twitter and said, “Alhamdulillah Allah save us today while shooting in Christchurch in the mosque...we r extremely lucky...never want to see this things happen again....pray for us.”
