ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The nation is celebrating Pakistan Day on Wednesday with pledge to make Pakistan stronger. The day started with 31-gun salute at the federal capital and 21-gun salutes at the provincial capitals. The national flag is being hoisted at all major government and private buildings. Special prayers have been offered after Fajr prayers for the country’s security, progress and solidarity. The military parade is being held at the Parade Ground in Islamabad. Troops of the Parade including foot columns of Army, Navy, Pakistan Air Force, Frontier Corps, Northern Light Infantry, Mujahid Force, Islamabad Police, tri-service Lady officers, tri-service Armed Forces Nursing Service, Girls Guide, Boys Scouts, Special Service Group from three Services, mechanized columns of Armoured Corps, Artillery, Army Air Defence, Signals, Engineers, Army Strategic Force Command, Camel Band and President's body guards will exhibit their professional skills. President Mamnoon Hussain, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif, federal ministers, diplomats and other high-level military officials are present in the ceremony. Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Sohail Amman led the fly-past. In Karachi, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah and Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad will lay a floral wreath on the Mazar-e-Quaid.
