ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Pakistan has decided to effectively respond to any type of aggression or provocation from India with its people's support during the National Security Council’s (NSC) meeting  under the chair of Prime Minister Imran Khan on Sunday. It is pertinent to mention here that the prime minister had convened a meeting of the NSC to discuss issues pertaining to the national security in the wake of cluster bombs attack carried out by Indian forces against civilians in Neelum Valley. According to the declaration after NSC meeting, a strategy to effectively respond to provocation by India was readied during the NSC meeting, a notification said, as security situation of the country was assessed. A briefing on the situation in Indian-held Jammu Kashmir was given during the NSC meeting, which was attended by Chief of Army Staff Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Zubair Mahmood Hayat, Naval Chief Zafar Mahmood Abbasi, Air Chief Zafar Chaudhry and DG-ISI Lieutenant-General Faiz Hameed. Defence Minister, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Interior Minister Ijaz Shah, Minister for Kashmir Affairs Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan, Special Assistant of Prime Minister on Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan and Foreign Secretary Sohail Mahmood and other senior officials were also present in the meeting. The notifications stated that the heightening tensions following the deteriorating situation in Indian-occupied Kashmir (IoK) were pondered upon during the meeting, with the NSC stating that India's actions in the region were contributing to worsening the conditions. India's motives have been revealed in terms of internal and foreign affairs and a panicked New Delhi may come up with dangerous options to hide its failures, the notification said. India is also targeting civilians areas with cluster bombs to provoke Pakistan, it added, noting that Islamabad would always stand strong with the Kashmiri people and would never leave them alone. Pakistan desires that the Kashmir issue be resolved in accordance with the United Nations (UN) resolutions, as well as the wishes of the Kashmiri people. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nslFz9YeQss A day earlier, DG ISPR Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor has said that the use of cluster bombs by Indian Army violating international conventions is condemnable. In a tweet on Saturday, he said: “No weapon can suppress determination of Kashmiris to get their right of self determination. Kashmir runs in blood of every Pakistani. Indigenous freedom struggle of Kashmiris shall succeed, Insha Allah.” Pakistan’s Ambassador to UN Maleeha Lodhi has said that unchecked use of cluster bombs on the civilian population along the Line of Control (LoC) has exposed the real face of the Indian Occupied Army before the international community. In a tweet, she said: “India has always violated the prescribed international laws, especially the Geneva Convention.” She said that why India stops the UN Special Mission to review the reality in Occupied Kashmir if he has nothing to conceal. “India cannot hide reality by any means.” On the other hand, a cluster munition is a form of air-dropped or ground-launched explosive weapon that releases or ejects smaller sub-munitions. Commonly, this is a cluster bomb that ejects explosive bomblets that are designed to kill people and destroy vehicles.
