ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said that Pakistan has been elected the head of Group 77 for the next year.

Virtually addressing the annual meeting of Ministers for Foreign Affairs of The Group of 77 and China, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi thanked the member countries and China for their confidence in Pakistan to lead the group.

He said that the world is facing the challenge of the Corona epidemic and climate change. “Implementing the UN Sustainable Development Agenda 2030 is also a challenge. Developing countries must adopt a 'common development agenda' to achieve the UN 2030 goals.”

Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that there should also have an equitable financial and trade architecture. “Developing countries must be provided with adequate financial support to address the challenges of debt and climate change amidst Covid-19,” he concluded.
