ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhary has said that Pakistan faces a threat from internal extremism, not from the United States and Europe.

Addressing a ceremony on Thursday, he said that the state is not so strong to counter extremism.

"The reason behind extremism is not religious education or seminaries. Those interpreting the Islamic education are responsible for the extremism," he added.

The minister said that people educated from schools and colleges are also extremists in their society.

"The teachers imparting education of extremism were recruited in the 90s. The agreement with the TLP is before all of us and the state was forced to ink the agreement," he added.

He was of the view that they destroyed the British rule of law without giving any alternate.
