Pakistan feels like home, says Turkish President Erdogan

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Friday said that while in Pakistan, he feels like he is at home. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is addressing a joint session of Parliament in Islamabad — for a record fourth time. At the start of his speech to a joint session of the parliament, the Turkish president said that he was thankful and happy to have had the opportunity to address the joint session of the parliament in Pakistan. “I am thankful for this opportunity. I am thankful to each of you individually for allowing me to address this joint session of Parliament,” he added. In his address, Erdogan thanked the Pakistani people and leadership over the warm welcome he was accorded upon arrival. “It is my pleasure to speak to you. I am thankful to you for giving me the opportunity to address this house. While in Pakistan, I feel like I am at home,” he maintained.
Kashmir issue is as close to us as it is to Pakistanis
"Today, the issue of Kashmir is as close to us as it is to Pakistanis,” he said, reiterating his support for Kashmiris. “Our Kashmiri brothers and sisters have suffered from inconveniences for decades and these have become graver.” “The Kashmir issue can be resolved not through conflict but through justice and fairness. Such a solution will be in the interest of all parties. Turkey will continue to stand by justice, peace and dialogue.”
Erdogan assures to fully back Pakistan in FATF
Erdogan has assured to fully back Pakistan in the Financial Action Task Force (FATF). He said Turkey will continue to support Pakistan on important matters as in the past.
Turkish president hails Pakistan’s efforts in war on terrorism
The Turkish President hailed Pakistan's efforts in the war on terrorism. He said Pakistan was the most affected by this menace. He said we are fully cognizant of the problems faced by Pakistan, adding, “We will continue to extend cooperation to it to cope with them.” "Today, Pakistan and Turkey's relations are admirable for others [...]. During difficult times, Pakistan has supported Turkey."
‘Won't forget prayers of Pakistan's people’
Quoting a poem by poet Allama Iqbal, Erdogan said: “Yes, like the poet of Lahore, people were drowning in these emotions, people of Pakistan had supported Turkey. We can never forget this. How can we forget those [Pakistanis] who prayed for Turkey? Our friendship is not based on vested interests but on love.”
Trump’s deal of the century is a takeover plan
“No distance can build a wall between the hearts of believers. If there is torture against any believers in the world, it our duty to help them. Especially over the past few days, when [US President Donald] Trump and [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu took a step about Al-Quds. “This is not a peace plan, this is a takeover plan. The plan of the deal of the century is not a peace project but in fact, a project for occupation,” said Erdogan "When the American administration announced this plan as 'the deal of the century', we gave the biggest reaction to this plan."

NA speaker thanks Erdogan for backing Pakistan on Kashmir cause

He thanked the Turkish president and the great Turkish nation for their clear and just stance on the Kashmir issue. Prime Minister Imran Khan and other senior officials received the distinguished guest at the Noor Khan Airbase. First Lady of Turkey Emine Erdogan accompanies the president. PM Khan personally drove President Erdogan and the Turkish first lady from the Noor Khan airbase to PM House, where, the ceremony was held to accord guard of honour to distinguished guest. Posters welcoming the Turkish president were put up in the capital ahead of his arrival with strict security in place. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan was accorded Guard of Honour at the Prime Minister’s House. President Erdogan accompanied by a high-level delegation comprising cabinet members and senior government officials besides heads and CEOs of leading Turkish corporations. Pakistan and Turkey have agreed to extend mutual support on issues of each other’s core national interest. This understanding was reached at meeting between President Dr Arif Alvi and his Turkish Counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Both the leaders underscored the importance of fully realizing the immense potential of relationship between the two countries. During the meeting, they also underlined in transforming this relations into a strong and dynamic trade and economic partnership. On the occasion, President Alvi expressed gratification over the level of enhanced and multifaceted engagement between the two countries. He said that the 6th Session of High Level Strategic Cooperation Council will further strengthen and broaden the fraternal relations between Pakistan and Turkey.
President apprises Erdogan worsening HR situation in IoK
Dr Alvi also apprised President Erdogan of the worsening human rights situation in Occupied Kashmir and took the opportunity to thank the President Erdogan for his principled stand on Kashmir.
Warm welcome accorded to Turkish president, first lady
Earlier, a warm welcome was accorded to the Turkish President and First Lady of Turkey Emine Erdogan over their arrival at the presidency. President Arif Alvi later hosted banquet in honour of the distinguished guests.
Dinner hosted
Erdogan also met President Dr Arif Alvi on dinner hosted in his honour upon his visit to Pakistan. Both the countries will sign various agreements on defence, railways, information, economy and trade. It is noteworthy to mention here that President Alvi summoned a joint session of the Parliament on Friday (tomorrow) at 11:00am which will be addressed by President Erdogan.
