Pakistan forwards Taliban prisoners list to Afghanistan

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Extending cooperation, Pakistan forwarded a list of Afghan Taliban detained in Pakistan to Afghan government and Taliban, that could be released in the second round of Murree Peace Talks. Pakistan has been playing a positive role in the talks between Afghan Taliban and Afghan government. As many as 150 prisoners are present in Pakistan’s different prisons including important Taliban leader Mullah Abdul Baqi, Shamasullah and Salamullah. Sources said that Pakistan is ready to release Afghan Taliban prisoners for the sake of Afghan peace process. “There were possibilities of releasing these prisoners during the second round of Murree Peace Talks,” sources said. Representatives of Afghan Taliban had demanded the list and release of prisoners.
