Pakistan greatly values its relations with Bahrain: FM

MANAMA (92 News) - Foreign Minister (FM) Shah Mahmood Qurshi says our government is focused on greater economic, trade and investment cooperation with Bahrain and other countries in the region.

Addressing 2nd session of Pakistan-Bahrain Joint Ministerial Commission, he said Pakistan greatly values its relations with Bahrain, which are deeply rooted in common faith, history and people-to-people linkages.

He said Pakistan and Bahrain share similarity of views on many issues of mutual interest and collaborate at various regional and international fora.

The minister said there are great business and investment opportunities in Pakistan, especially under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. In this regard, we look forward to working closely with Bahrain and other GCC countries.

Pakistan and Bahrain have agreed to continue working closely to further strengthen bilateral relations in fields of trade, investment, energy and culture.

This was agreed during meeting between Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and his Bahraini counterpart Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, on the margins of the 2nd session of Pakistan-Bahrain Joint Ministerial Commission held in Manama.

Recalling the traditionally close and fraternal bilateral ties, rooted deep in common faith and shared values, Shah Mahmood Qureshi underscored the need to explore new areas of cooperation to further deepen the bilateral relations.

The foreign minister of Bahrain expressed the desire to further broaden and deepen bilateral engagement in diverse fields between the two countries.
