ISLAMABAD (92 News) Pakistan and Hungary on Thursday signed an agreement allowing visa-free travel for diplomatic passport holders, as the two countries marked 60 years of diplomatic relations.
Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó, in Islamabad on a one-day visit, also signed two MoUs with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, aimed at enhancing cooperation in culture and archaeology.
Speaking at a joint press conference, Szijjártó praised Pakistan’s counterterrorism efforts, noting their role in global and European security. He reaffirmed Hungary’s support for extending Pakistan’s GSP+ trade status beyond 2027.
The Hungarian minister, accompanied by a 17-member business delegation, also attended the Pakistan-Hungary Business Forum, where both sides expressed interest in deepening cooperation in trade, energy, agriculture, and investment.
Dar said the agreements reflect growing ties and shared goals between the two nations, rooted in mutual respect and a commitment to peace and development.
