Pakistan in a state of war and commanders are not changed at this time: Firdous

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Firdous Ashiq Awan has said that Pakistan is in a state of war and commanders are not changed at this time. Reacting to the extension granted to COAS General Qamar Bajwa on Monday, she said that the extension was need of the national security. “Prime Minister Imran Khan made the decision in the interest of the people and country,” she said. The SAPM said that the continuity of leadership will bring stability in the country. “The COAS played a role in strengthening the institutions and the extension in his service will yield positive results,” she maintained. Firdous Ashiq Awan said that Pakistan had sacrificed 80,000 lives in the war against terrorism. “PM Imran Khan was of the view that US forces cannot bring peace in Afghanistan and the world acknowledged his stance.” She said that dialogues with the Taliban were impossible without Pakistan and COAS Bajwa played a key role in the dialogues. “The government and Pak Army are on the same page for peace in the region,” she added. Firdous Ashiq Awan said that India is playing with peace in the region. “The armed forces gave innumerable sacrifices for eliminating terrorism in tribal areas,” she said. “Now we are forced to move to the eastern border from the western border.” She said that Pakistan struggled for the Pakistan of Quaid-e-Azam for 22 years. “The people gave the mandate to Imran Khan to steer the country of the outdated system,” she added.

Reforms being introduced in all institutions during 1 year of PTI govt: Firdous

On August 18, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Firdous Ashiq Awan on Sunday said that reforms are being introduced in all government institutions under the leadership of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) during the last one year. While addressing a ceremony to mark the completion of one year of the government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in Islamabad, the special assistant has said today is very important day as the government has completed its one year tenure. Firdous Ashiq Awan said the government in a short period of one year corrected the course through strong foundations, hard work, and honesty. She also said that the prime minister achieved historic electoral success after a political struggle of 22 years and his vision is to transform Pakistan on the principles of State of Madinah with characteristics of merit, justice, rule of law, social welfare and austerity. The special assistant said under this vision the reforms are being introduced in all government ministries and institutions and the Prime Minister is personally supervising the reforms agenda of the government. She said noticeable improvements have been made in postal services, NHA, railways, and many other government departments. Referring to her ministry, Firdous Ashiq Awan said reforms have been brought in PTV and it is becoming a profitable institution now. She said the links between Associated Press of Pakistan are being increased with international news agencies so that it projects positive image of Pakistan abroad. “This day is dedicated to struggle of oppressed Kashmiri brothers and sisters for their right to self-determination,” she said.
