Pakistan, India should resolve issues through dialogue: Kirby

WASHINGTON (92 News) – US State Department Spokesman John Kirby has on Friday said that Pakistan and India should adopt the path of dialogue to reduce tensions. Addressing a daily press briefing in Washington, he urged the nuclear arch rivals to work bilaterally to try to reduce tensions. The State Department Spokesman said that the US is in close communication with Pakistan and India to ease tensions at the borders. He said that the US is trying to eliminate terrorism from the entire world, adding that the allied forces of 67 countries are fighting against Daesh. Tensions between the two nuclear-armed rivals have increased in recent months after attack on Indian military facilities in the Indian-occupied part of Kashmir. India has blamed Pakistan-based militants for the attacks, a charge Pakistan denies. Despite pleas from the United Nations, the two sides have continued to exchange fire in the disputed Himalayan region. The violence has forced thousands of villagers on the Pakistani side to flee for safety.
