Pakistan, India urged to resolve IWT issue through dialogues

WASHINGTON (92 News) – The United States State Department spokesman John Kirby has on Tuesday urged Pakistan and India to resolve their differences on Indus Waters Treaty (IWT) through dialogues. Addressing a daily news briefing, he termed Indus Waters Treaty (IWT) an example of peaceful cooperation between the two countries which is being respected for the last 50 years. The spokesman said that US Secretary of State John Kerry has also discussed this issue with Finance Minister Ishaq Dar. Kirby said that the US is in contact with India and Pakistan on a wide range of issues. He went on to say that Washington welcomes Pakistan, Russia and China talks for peace in Afghanistan.
