Pakistan, Iran agree to reduce tension and restore diplomatic relations

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani spoke with Iranian counterpart Amirabdolahian on Friday.

During the telephonic conversation, Foreign Minister Jilani expressed Pakistan’s readiness to work with Iran on all issues based on spirit of mutual trust and cooperation.

He underscored the need for closer cooperation on security issues. Both sides agreed to reduce recent tension and restore diplomatic relations. FM Jilani also invited the Iranian counterpart to visit Pakistan.

Meanwhile, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan called Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani to discuss the ongoing developments between Pakistan and Iran.

During the conversation, FM shared Pakistan’s perspective and the recent developments. He stated that Pakistan’s Operation 'Marg Bar Sarmachar' was aimed at terrorist camps inside Iran and that Pakistan has no interest or desire in escalation.
