Pakistan, Iran discuss bilateral cooperation

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on Wednesday met his Pakistani counterpart Shah Mehmood Qureshi in Islamabad. According to details, both the ministers exchange views on matters related to mutual interests. They discussed all issues including ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries in diverse fields. The Iranian foreign minister will also call on Prime Minister Imran Khan to discuss the entire gamut of bilateral relations. During his one-day visit, Iranian foreign minister has also been scheduled to meet Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa for discussion over 12 abducted officials. It is Zarif’s second visit to Pakistan during the government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). “FM Qureshi welcomed Zarif at MOFA today. Detailed discussions on all issues of mutual interest including ways to enhance cooperation took place,” FO spokesperson Mohammad Faisal tweeted.   “Talks between Iran and Pakistan took place on all issues of mutual interest,” he added.   Zarif landed in Islamabad this morning for what marks his second visit during the newly-elected Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan's government. The Iranian foreign minister is also expected to meet PM Imran during his visit.
