TOKYO (92 News) – Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said that Pakistan is a responsible nuclear state and has no aggressive designs. Talking to the media before departing for China on Wednesday, he said that Pakistan is nuclear are in safe hands and the world acknowledges it. Earlier, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi called on Japanese Deputy Prime Minister Taro Aso in Tokyo. They exchanged views on bilateral relations and promotion of cooperation in various fields. They also discussed security situation in the region. The two leaders expressed resolve to continue joint efforts for peace and stability in the region. Speaking at a lunch hosted in his honor by Chairman Japan-Pakistan Business Cooperation Committee Taro Asada in Tokyo, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi invited Japanese companies to invest in the information technology sector, small and medium enterprises and agriculture value chains. He encouraged members of the business committee to visit Pakistan and further explore the huge opportunities in trade and investment. Shah Mehmood Qureshi elaborated on the economic agenda of the PTI government. The Chairman Japan-Pakistan Business Cooperation Committee expressed his satisfaction on the growing trade and investment relations between the two countries. Addressing a joint news conference along with his Japanese counterpart in Tokyo, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said Pakistan and Japan have agreed to enhance bilateral cooperation in various sectors including trade, investment, Information Technology, and agriculture. Shah Mehmood Qureshi said a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed under which Japan will import technical human resource of young Pakistanis. The foreign minister said that he has held useful meetings with the Japanese authorities in a cordial environment and discussed matters of mutual interest to further enhance cooperation between the two countries. Speaking on the occasion, Taro Kono said Japan will continue to cooperate with Pakistan for is socio-economic development. He emphasized on promoting bilateral ties to diversify economic cooperation and to enhance people to people contacts. Taro Kono lauded Pakistan's efforts for peace in the region.
