Pakistan is not defaulting, PM briefs economic team

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, while presiding over a meeting of his economic team, has reiterated that Pakistan is not defaulting.

He also briefed the meeting about the economic situation in the country. "The news about the country going bankrupt are misleading," he maintained.

The prime minister directed Finance Minister Ishaq Dar to make the facts public. He also ordered to reduce the difference between the dollar rates in the interbank and open markets.

He ordered the authorities concerned to take strict action against the people hoarding dollar.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif contacted JUI-F chief Maulana Fazalur Rehman and BNP chief Akhtar Mengal. He assured both leaders to remove fears about the Riqo Diq agreement.
