Pakistan Literature Festival starts at Alhamra on Feb 10

LAHORE (92 News) - The Pakistan Literature Festival will be inaugurated at the Alhamra Arts Council at 3pm on Friday.

Punjab Caretaker CM Mohsin Naqvi, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah, Minister of Information and Culture of Punjab Amir Mir and Minister of Culture and Education of Sindh Syed Sardar Shah will also participate in the inauguration ceremony.

There will be more than 50 sessions of the festival, which will include entertainment, music, dance, literature, education, economy, book launch and discussion with the country's leading intellectuals and artists, including Anwar Maqsood.

Addressing a press conference, Alhamra Arts Council president Muhammad Ahmed Shah said that Karachi Arts Council had organized Urdu conference 15 years ago and now it was introducing a new brand. "We in consultation with Anwar Maqsood are organizing the Pakistan Literature Festival at the international level and it is being inaugurated from Lahore. Later, Pakistan Literature Festival will be held in four America cities – Houston, New York, Chicago Silicon Valley, Dallas and Toronto," he added.
